A Sweet Nightmare Ch. 1

It was a beautiful December night. Jack was up in his tower getting ready to meet Sally at the Spiral Hill. This was no ordinary date of theirs though. Jack had a special present for Sally. Jack held up a small black box.

"Oh Zero," Jack sighed. "How am I going to do this?"

Jack looked over to Zero who was was fast asleep in his dog bed. Jack just smiled. Jack just kept thinking to himself 'How am I going to ask her?' or ' What is she says no?' or 'What if I look like an idiot?'.All of those questions kept coming to mind. He lost track of the time and after a while he looked up at his clock.

"Oh no! I'm late! Zero!"

Zero's ears shot up and floated down to Jack.

"Zero, I'm going to be gone for a bit. Watch the house for me."

Zero barked in agreement. Jack ran out the door with the box rattling in his pocket. He swung the iron gate to the Spiral Hill open to find Sally standing at the top of the hill. 'Great way to start off, Jack.' Jack thought.

"Jack!" Sally shouted.
"Sally!" Jack shouted back. He held her hands in his.
"Sally, I'm sorry I'm late, I just lost track and-"
"Oh don't be sorry, Jack. It's fine." Sally smiled. Jack gave her a smile back. Jack's hands started to shake a bit. He was nervous.

"Jack, are you alright?" Sally asked.
"I...I'm...." Jack muttered.
"Jack, is there something you ant to tell me?"
"Yes." Jack responded.
"Well, what is it?"

Sally gazed in Jack's eyes waiting for his question.

"Err...Sally, I love you and you know that."
"Yes, Jack. I love you too."
"Well, I...I wanted to ask...if maybe you...you know what, I'm just going to come out an say this."

Jack kneeled down and grabbed the little black box out of his pocket and opened it revealing a beautiful diamond ring with a small black spider on top. Sally gasped.

"Sally, will you marry me?" Jack asked. He shut his eyes then opened them again.

"Oh my god, Jack..." Sally couldn't believe this.
"I understand if you say no, I mean I would like you to say yes, but it's...it's your decision and I-" Sally gently put her hand over Jack's mouth.
"Jack, there is no one else I would rather be with for the rest of my life but you." Sally replied. Now Jack was in a state of shock for a moment.
"Really?" Jack asked.
"Yes, really." Sally smiled.

Jack smiled too. He lifted her hand and slipped the ring on. They both shared a kiss afterwards...
